Who's She...

You'll never guess who her great-grandfather is until you hear her last name. Dree Hemingway, daughter of Mariel Hemingway and great-grandaughter of Ernest Hemingway

Something New

We've been working day and night trying to get the store up and running with brand new inventories. A mini preview of what's in "store"...

Super unique Marc Jacobs inspired mini plaid dress with batwing sleeves, and stand collars!

This offwhite SUPER SOFT zip front vest is so adorable and warm...ahhh...did I mention that it's SUPER SOFT?

I'm obsessed with these two tone, double layer tunics, comes in many colors!

Inspired by Marc

Inspired by Marc by Marc Jacobs' 2008 RTW, I threw on this tartan dress on Sunday to channel some of that MJ's winter punk-chicness.

New Burberry

No matter what other says about Burberry's 2009 campaign, I'm enjoying every bit of its English countryside not-a-single-care-in-world vibe. Christopher Bailey and Mario Testino's cooperation has turned into some truely gorgous photos. What do you think?

Vintage

Have you ever gone through a gift-shopping dry spell? I was trying to get some Christmas shopping out of the way over the weekend, for one reason or another, I found exactly nothing for everyone on my list. Sigh...more trips to the mall in the upcoming weeks. Although the gift fairy took the weekend off, I was able to snatch a few crazy vintage pieces, which include a wine colored anorak jacket, a mink stole and an absolutely insane looking knit top!

Finally, four days of binge cooking/eating/drinking has came to an end. I’m slightly or rather very much depressed by the fact that there’s no more left over from the Turkey day for me to snack on, and that I’m back in the Bay area, again. It’s not that I don’t love my life here, its just that my life seems to be slightly more complete in SD...

We made a quick stop in LA on Sat to visit my BFF, and to check out some of the new openings on Robertson Ave. The new Chanel store is hands down the most beautiful of them all. I’m not just talking about the interior space, its outdoor lounge area can easily be mistaken for a spa retreat. Enough drooling, going back to my bff, she was like a flower child gone rock and roll, super cool mocha colored leather biker jacket with crytal/metal chain link head band and a pair of ultra tall over the knee flat boots. All I can say is “BRAVO”! Will try to show a pic of her later.
In the mean time, I'll share a few of my creations over the Turkey day!

THAT 6lb deep dish apple pie is THE-COMMA-INDUCER...

Stuffing Turkey Roll is possibly the tastest turkey I've ever had...

Velcros Madness

I finally gave in and got the Givenchy-Wanna-Be Aldo open toe booties on black Friday, after putting them in and out of my online shopping cart for a good half of a dozen times over the past two weeks.
KK was not at all impressed with the Velcro closures on the babies, but I’m so madly in love with them that I just couldn’t walk out of the store empty handed.

These Skinnies

These jeans from Insight are almost as perfect as they come. Rocking exposed zippers on all pockets and at the ankle, skin tight fitting, what more can a girl ask for! Did I mention they are so comfortable that it feels like you have nothing on?

It's all about the SHOES

It's All About The Shoes by MorningVentiLatte

As many of you know already, I LOVE shoes, so its no surprise that I dedicate an entire post to my favorite subject.
Ling, the far left pair is dedicated to you! I know you've been eying something like this for a while now. Personally, I think it looks ultra cool on!
You can click on the collage to take a better look.

One Sweet Weekend

This is definitely not one of the normal posts I do.
But since Turkey day is right around the corner as well as KK's bday , I decided to try out some new dessert recipes with the help of my super-wife friend G. Both desserts are special requests from the bday boy, one for the night of his bday, and the other one for Turkey day. The deep dish apple pie came out to be 'PHENOMENAL', borrowing G's word! I think I ate 1/4 of it by myself. The fresh strawberry cake however will need some tweaks as it was a ted bit too sweet for my taste. But I got some rave reviews from other people who tasted it. Maybe my sweet tooth is not as sweet as I thought ..^___~..

Thursday, November 20, 2008

Its been a while since my last outfit post, mainly due to the change of my morning routine, and that I've been kind of lazy lately. I'll be more diligent from now on, promise.
I lived in this Free People dress and C&C long sleeve T for the past weekend, haha...mainly because I was too tired/drunk/lazy to think of anything else to wear.

I'm also working hard to resume my online store in the near future. More updates to come...

Mending a Broken Heart

The second I saw this pair of "don't-mess-with-me-cuz-I-will-kick-your-butt" boots from R&R, I knew I had to have them. With them by my side, or on my feet is more like it, I'll be strong enough to withstand whatever life decides to throw at me. Click click, they are their way!

Kate Lanphear II

Following up on my previous post, I've been dying to recreate this Kate Lanphear look. Will post pictures later tonight.

Kate Lanphear

Many apologies for my extended disappearance. I want to assure everyone that I didn’t forget about the blog, I just had to deal with a few curve balls that were thrown at me in the past week.

On a good note, I have a ton of new things to share starting with my current obsession Kate Lanphear, the senior editor of US Elle. She has the unmatched ability to turn monochromatic black/neutral outfits into something super chic.

Jiu Zai Go

I was floored when I arrived at Jiu Zai Go for the first time. Its beauty is breath taking, beyond what one can describe with words. Even pictures cannot quite capture its magicalness. My eyes were wide open, and I was speechless, (can't even get a whao out of my mouth) for a good twenty minutes or so.
The other unimaginable thing with Jiu Zai is that it's completely undisturbed, unpolluted by the modern day development! Many props for the Chinese government for enforcing strict environmental preservation law in that area.
Here are a few pictures of Jiu Zai from my camera. I'll share more later from my dad's super camera when I get my computer up and running.

As you can tell, it's incredibly cold in Jiu Zai, we were well bundled up.

A View From Above

The view from our 29th floor, Shanghai-home-for-a-month is absolutely breath taking. What can I say, it's the city of luxury and the MEGA of endless skyscrapers, seriously.
Where we are staying is almost like norcal in many aspects, the ratio of Asian to non-Asian population is close to 50 50 from what I observed. My fear of feeling slightly out of place was completely replaced by a new found sense of familiarity and curiosity.

Tennis courts have become a staple in luxury high raises.

I can't see an end to this sea of skyscrappers

Picture of the city from the bedroom balcony

Not every inch of Shanghai's occupied by buildings, you can actually find green areas here too, which is a lot different from what I remembered.
