2-in-1

A more accurate title should be 3-in-1, I actually felt a little insane having to change my outfit 3 times in one day. The reason? It was super sunny and warm in the morning when I left to go to work (didn't get a chance to take a pic), it cooled down slightly in the early evening when I ran to the grocery store. Some how between the hours of 6 and 7pm, the weather made a 180 degree turn, I noticed the change right before the girls night out, so I had 5 seconds to swap out my AA bondage skirt for something a little warmer. We are both huge fans of Angelina Jolie, and her new movie Wanted is definitely a two thumbs up! Ahh...now, only I can have her body....

Something Fringe

I thought of you, jjbee, the instant I saw these leather sandals from ASOS!

Creative

I can't believe it's Thursday already, this week went by super fast! By the way, I just discovered the most time efficient way to get dressed in the morning, wear a tshirt over a dress! I'm need to be very creative now that I'm trying to shrink my closet.

Marci-Marc

Oh, how can any girl not love Marc Jacobs, even his casual Ts are perfect!

You get what you paid for

How do you justify spending $220 on a cotton nightie? My jaw nearly dropped when my hands first landed on this amazingly soft, unbelievably light little number. The price may seem insanely high for a nightgown, yah, I couldn’t believe my eyes either when I read the price tag. And if it wasn’t for the store closing sale, I would never have considered buying it. The temperature was brutal in the bay area over the past weekend, it hovered around 100 degrees during the day and stayed at high 80s after the sun went down. Trying to get some snooze without AC was almost as brutal as running a marathon. As I was circling around the room contemplating on what I should wear to bed, (even my tiniest tank top seemed a winter coat in this heat), I saw my new acquisition through the corner of my eyes and decided to give it a try. Let me just say, I’ve never wore anything so breathable, and so weightless before, I happily drifted into lala land after 15 minutes. This has lead to my conclusion that you really do get what you paid for, unless you get it on sale ..^___~..

Different View

I can't even began to explain how crazy my past weekend was. The temperature was over 100 degrees on both Friday and Saturday, which was even too hot for KK and I to walk around in Santa Row. We spontaneously decided to drive down to Monterey Bay for a quick cool down, which turned out to be the best decision we've made in a long time. While Bay Area was stewing in scorching heat, Monterey was in perfect 70s..ahhh...we spent half a day hanging out on the beach, chatting about not much of anything...
Ok going back to the dress, this is one of the vintage dresses that I absolutely love, but KK thinks its completely hideous...sigh, the difference between a man's point of view versus a woman’s :)

STUDlies

Studs are seriously popping up everywhere from belts to bracelet to shoes. Both Heidi and Blake were pictured wearing studded gladiators scrolling down the street on their down times. Um, maybe that needs to go on my mile long want list as well...

Since flat sandals are rarely ever my style, that's a topic for a different day, I found these to die for studded 5" gladiators by Report Signature, um...maybe I can sneak it in my vday "need list"? Strange as it may sound, I change our vday from Feb to June due to an overflowing amount of celebrations that need to take place between the month of Jan and Mar. This is one of many strange things that I do in my life with the intention of simplification yet resulted in a lot of confusion.

My New Uglies

I was pleasantly surprised when this pair of vintage uglies magically appeared in front of my eyes when I was browsing through Urban Outfitters over the weekend. Am I the last person who doesn't know about UO's vintage business? Going back to the boots, they are a bit blue collar, a bit cowboy, a bit grunge, and absolutely ugly! Umm....I'm contributing my fatal attraction to my undying love for all shoes ugly.

The Carrie BELT

Ok, ever since the SATC movie, I've been looking high and low for a perfect vintage studded belt. God knows how many pages of "vintage belt" did I browse through on eBay, umm....probably some where in hundreds. Guess what, Patricia Field recreated the belt and is pre-selling it in her store!

The Last Fall

My tiny credit card sized Sony DSC finally gave up on taking pictures of me prancing around in my daily outfit after the 40th accidental fall from my home made "tripod stand". Urg...
It was quite a fruitful weekend in terms of finding random things, will share pics later on in the week when KK brings up his camera.
In the mean time, I'll just stick to sharing inspirational images I've gathered over the weeks.

These are images of lovely Karla from Karlascloset.

Friday Fun

How can you look at Agnes and not smile?

Can I just say, I WANT Erin's fringe bag?

How can anyone look so cool in such basic pieces? I guess it's all about the attitude...

Floral Uniform

I swear I've never wore a skirt as much as I have with this floral one. Umm...it has really become part of my uniform lately.

Inspiration

I haven't done an inspiration post for a while now, here's one of my favorite bloggers, Karolina of Fashion Flash.

Even though I have absolutely no clue as to what she says in her blog, I suspect its in Swedish(?), her ultra chic style combined with her perfectly wavy blond hair, simply beautiful.

Overflowing Closet

Finally, I started my closet cleaning over the weekend, oh man oh man, the simple project has evolved into something much more complex and headachy. Allow me to elaborate, I’m very “forgetful” or rather, have very selective memory in terms of what I have already. This has become a huge issue over the years as I continue to buy more similar pieces thinking that I actually need them, but in reality, my closets (yes all three of them) are exploding with clothes. As a domino effect, it has made finding anything nearly impossible, which you guessed it, resulted in more mindless buying. I was actually quite upset with myself looking at 50+ identical tank tops, 30+ pairs of denims, and etc etc, the worst part is, that’s only the first closet! I have no doubt that I have what use to be a “California housing down payment” sitting in merely 50 sqft of closet space, umm, kind of reminds me of Carrie from SATC…

As an attempt to sort out what I need and don’t need, I laid out a good amount of clothing articles on the floor. Being a pack rat that I am, its close to mission impossible for me to put things in the give away pile…sigh…

I got this vintage black tulip shaped dress a while ago, but I didn’t know how to wear it because of its below the knee hemline. One night sitting in front of TV, I decided to make a mini dress out of it. Not too bad for my first time I guess :)

THE Arrival Of Carrie Gladiators

I'm so in love with these Carrie gladiators, I don't think I'd ever want to take them off! The added bonus, they are super comfortable too.

It's Just A Shirt

After playing some tennis with my parents, my dad took us to this new Shanghai-ese resturaunt, which by the way is very delish and light. For one reason or another, it almost felt like my Rogan for Taget shirt was the center of the attention for the day. My parents were very confused when I was stopped for the third time by girls who are wondering where I got my shirt from?! By the way, I didn't realize the print is half of a tiger face until I saw these pics..seriously...

Friday, June 6, 2008

Ah, what a hectic morning! I had exactly 2 minutes to put on an outfit and get out of the door. It's all so that I can drop by the post office to send out these long over due presents:) Umm...I guess this is what happens when I don't check the mirror. My mom saw me for dinner and gave me a "seriously, what are you wearing" comment, that's fairly normal coming from a mother, no?
